RJ Mitte is an actor, producer, model and activist (who has cerebral palsy). He is best known for his portrayal of Walter "Flynn" White on the AMC drama series "Breaking Bad." He also appeared in Weeds, Vegas, Switched at Birth, and Everybody Hates Chris.
Mitte sat down and chatted with this journalist at Burgerology Midtown while in New York for the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. His new film "Westhampton" premiered at the festival on June 7th. Mitte shared 10 interesting and exciting things about himself.
Favorite movies
RJ Mitte's favorite movies include Kill Bill and Nonnas (the new Vince Vaughn film). “I also love Quentin Tarantino,” he said. “I watch three or four movies a day. I replay a lot of them. I always have the TV on at home. I watch everything.”
Favorite series to binge-watch
Mitte's favorite series to binge is The Last Kingdom.
Favorite sports to watch and to play
RJ Mitte's favorite sport to watch and to play is “Soccer.”
“I’ve played soccer for six seasons as a kid, and I’ve loved it. I also love boxing,” he said. “I am a big fan of sports and what they do for communities.”
Favorite mottos to live by
On his favorite mottos to live by, Mitte responded, "Finding understanding in everything; people able to understand people because so many people don’t get to be understood."
Favorite cheat meal
RJ Mitte's favorite cheat meal is "bread."
“Also, Burgerology too,” he said with a sweet laugh.
Superpower of choice
His superpower of choice would be "Telekinesis."
Alternate career choice
“As a young kid, I wanted to be in the military,” Mitte said about his alternate career choice.
Hobbies (to unwind and relax)
RJ Mitte's hobbies to unwind and relax include playing video games. “I like online games,” he admitted.
Dream acting partners
Mitte's dream acting partner is Jim Carrey. “I’ve always been a big fan of Jim Carrey and his movies,” he admitted. “Also, Adam Sandler, Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, and Ben Affleck,” Mitte said.
Mitte defines success
Mitte furnished his definition of the word success. “Success is a part of a bigger plan," he said. "Once we find that first aspect of success, we need to find what pushes us next: the next chapter of growth. You need to keep finding a new goal to be successful. You need to push forward.”
