Feel Good Interview Series: Jake Galluccio — Vertical Drama Star and "Grief Trip" Actor - 10 Things to Know About Him Including Why He Loves the Age He is, Why He Drums and Who His Dream Acting Partners Are

Jake Galluccio is known for his acting work as a star in the vertical drama world (such as "A Deal with the Hockey Captain" and "Call Me By Your Heart"). He is also known for his starring role in the short film "Grief Trip," written and directed by Christian Baldonado, where he navigates family loss, trauma and healing.
Galluccio, sat down and chatted with this journalist at Burgerology Midtown in New York City, and he shared 10 interesting and exciting things about himself. 
Jake's Favorite Movies
He listed “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as his favorite movie. “I’m a big superhero guy and I love Marvel, so that’s definitely No. 1,” he said.
“I really liked ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.’ That’s definitely my No. 1 rom-com film,” he said. “I also loved ‘Interstellar,’ which is one of the best movies of all time.”
His Favorite Series to Binge-watch
His favorite series to binge is “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” “I’m a pretty big anime guy,” he said. “Right now, I am also watching ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ which is really good.”
His Favorite Cheat Meal
His favorite cheat meal is “chicken parm over rigatoni pasta with extra red sauce.” “That's my go to,” he said. “It’s not the healthiest but it’s good.”
“I love lasagna. I could always hit lasagna,” he said. “Also, I really liked Burgerology. The food here is so good. I would love to come back someday!”
Jake's Favorite Mottos to Live by
His favorite motto to live by is the following: “With great power comes great responsibility.” This quote has been popularized by the “Spider-Man” comic books and movies.
“Having a platform and being able to use it for good, I consider my reach and my platform as great power,” he admitted. “I want them to use them for good and to spread positivity. I am also into spreading the word of God.”
What Jake Galluccio Says is the Best Thing About Being His Age
“The best thing about being 24 is that it’s not too late to do anything. Right now, I can mess up and if it doesn’t work out, I still have time to do something else… that is something I’m living by right now.”
“I’ve lived in Florida, Los Angeles, and now, I am back in New York, where I am figuring out what’s best for me because I know that I can still have time to do something else,” he noted.
Favorite Sports to Watch and to Play
His favorite sport to watch is rugby, while his favorite sport to play is football.
The Best Advice Jake Galluccio Says He Has Ever Been Given
On the best advice he has ever been given, he shared, “Laughter is allowed alongside grief.”
“The best advice I’ve ever heard is to do your research on people before you get involved with them. You need to know what you are getting yourself into,” he added.
His Dream Acting Partners to Someday Work With
Galluccio listed Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal as his dream collaboration to someday work with. “I love Jake. He is so diverse. I loved him in ‘Southpaw.’ Also, Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr. would be great choices too. They are great people with good advice too.”
Ironically enough, Galluccio and Gyllenhaal have the same first name and the same first initials at the start of their surnames.
How He Unwinds
On his favorite hobbies to unwind and relax, Galluccio said, “I really like drumming. I'm very big into drumming. I just got my first drum set, and I've been on it 24/7. So, my neighbors probably hate me, but it's great.”
Jake's Favorite Music
On his favorite music, he said, “I’m actually an old-timer. I like older classic music. You need to hear my wedding playlist. Older classical music is very fun and nice. I’m big into musicals such as ‘Hairspray,’ ‘Grease’ and ‘Glee.’ I have very diverse musical taste.”
