They have me LOL and loving the fact that the leads are women. Mike & Molly ends @CBS after six seasons, but I am sure we will have not seen the last of Melissa as she's hot right now. I am glad The Jim Gaffigan Show got renewed but they should have renewed #TheExes. The show had good storylines, interesting characters, and seasoned, well-known actors delivering those lines. I ordered the back seasons on DVD already as I was a latecomer to the show. This underscores the well-known problem with all the networks, there is a plethora of content out there to watch, and they need to give people time to find the shows. I know it's all about ad dollars but remember "built it and they will come". Perhaps the ad pricing needs to be adjusted to allow a program to gain its audience....
#OddMomOut renewed at #Bravo for Season Two, I have not watched this but I am hearing good things about it so I'll tune in... Hurrah for Tracey Morgan, he's up and around and hosting SNL this coming season along with other named hosts Miley Cyrus and Amy Schumer...The Donald: Fired. I just can't keep up with all the changes at #TheView, but I am so happy that Sherri Shepherd is coming back as a contributor. I miss her humor and her honesty..... UPTV just bought the whole Gilmore Girls series, 7 years from 2000-2007, I did not watch this show as my kids were little and Barney was on all the time, so I'd like to see what I missed and see Melissa McCarthy...Welcome Michelle Collins as permanent co-host to the View...Goodbye to Rosie Perez, she had a unique view and it will be missed. Second Rosie I liked on that show that is gone..
Unreal over at #Lifetime gets a second season pickup. Good plots, interesting characters define this fictional reality.. Speaking of Lifetime, I didn't quite know what to make of Wil Ferrel and Kristin Whig chatting over a kitchen island without anyone falling down or laughing, but Deadly Adoption is over 6 million views.. TBS is trying a new reality show, "Funny or Die Presents America's Next Weatherman". Will Brick Tamland show up to tell them how it's done?

Summer 2015 I am a fan of #UndertheDome from last season but I have to say it is a bit kooky now.. just who is Melanie possessed by? But I will continue to watch it.. you know they anticipated a problem when in the first episode recap of last season they used the word alternate reality to help clue us in... I find Wayward Pines more interesting.. a little bit of sci-fi, time travel, science and of course who doesn't want to look at Matt Dillon for an hour?..At the box office Jurassic World is making all other records extinct as it reaches 1 billion worldwide... Old sitcom coming back, Coach is coming back with Craig T. This was a groundbreaking show which brought back the old-fashioned "talent show" and put real people on TV... Netflix added 4.9 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2015 that says so much about the future of on-demand....and with that amount expect other players to pop up in the near future.....

Spring 2015 - Yay! For Full House. The long-rumored Full House spinoff is coming! Was great to see the "best-looking Greek guy"in America (I did not coin that phrase but I agree) on #JimmyKimmel announcing it. Those Greek yogurt commercials were just not enough. But, anyone notice how there's a strange resemblance of John Stamos to Steve Carrell?....#HBO's Veep, Silicon Valley, renewed....Over at #FOX, I didn't think I would like it and I still think the title should be changed because (Spoiler!!) he is not the Last Man on Earth but the show is really funny and kooky and I am glad to see it got picked up by #Fox for Season 2...Priceless watching Phil Tandy Miller roasting on a billboard....Fox also picked up #NEWGIRL for another season.... Downton Abbey is gone after 6 seasons, never watched it but might catch it on demand some day....#HouseofCards renewed for Season Four on #Netflix. She plays the mom of genius kids. In real life, she's been seen with her daughter Dakota, who stars in #5oShadesofGray....
#AlecBaldwin is back! He's set to play a billionaire philanthropist/Mayor of NYC in a new HBO Series - sounds like perfect casting to me for this New York native....

February 2015 #Glee Jane Lynch is off Glee and already signed to a CBS pilot, Angel from Hell.. hmmm....Moonlighting's Bruce Willis- remember that show- is doing something new! He is now headed to the lights of Broadway in a new show, #Misery set to debut this fall..It's going to be hard to keep up with everything the Kardashian Klan does because viewers in are for three more years of it on E!....#LadyGAGA to star in FX's American Horror Story next season...CBS' #Unforgettable really is. Also over at #abc Pitch Perfect's Skylar Austin will star in a comedy pilot about the NBA....And again at ABC, and I don't know why I am adding this because it's not my cup of tea, but they are picking up 6 episodes of Battlebots, previously on a cable station, to run during the summer. It's a show where homemade robots battle each other. Good luck to this show but I will be watching reruns of Shark Tank...
I just love VH1's #Hindsight. It's engaging, fun, interesting and the music is great. Very believable characters with a good storyline. But just when is Becca going to want to figure out how she time-travelled or how to get back? I would think how it all happened would have been the plot of one of the first episodes, even if we didn't find out the answers. Should she avoid every elevator shaft, or just certain ones? LOL. Even so, a good watch.......IFC has renewed Armisen, Brownstein's and Krisel's Portlandia for another two seasons

...Rob Lowe is off the couch and now starring in a new comedy pilot for #Fox, starring as a lawyer in a series called The Grinder....Could Axle be leaving #TheMiddle? Charlie McDermott- not a household name by far - is slated to star in a new CBS pilot, comedy, of course. I am hoping he'll somehow still manage to pop over to the Heck Home on college break because his character is an integral part of the show, so funny and yet in manaspects so real........Over 23 million tuned in to see the 40th Anniversary show for SNL.. there were a good 40 laughs but some skits just missed the mark. Still, I was awaiting the next laught for a full three hours and I got it....WOOPIE! Whoopie Goldberg is set to star in a new comedy pilot on ABC....Sarah Jessica Parker set to return to HBO in a new comedy Pilot now called "Divorce" - looking forward to the pumps, Sarah....#Ellen is not "letting go"... her A VERY GOOD PRODUCTION is producing a new half hour comedy with the extremely very good Idina Menzel called Happy Time, I would expect nothing less from Ellen than using the word Happy anytime...

Lots of interesting Pilot orders: #NBC has ordered a comedy named #Cuckoo and a paranormal one named Strange Calls. It's being called a "soap" - nice to hear they're using that word as a plus!......CBS has a medical drama pilot order as well, Code Black, and orders for a new comedy pilot, Half of It......... Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria is set to star in a new show on NBC "Telenovela" - orders were for 13 episodes...............Break out the yogurt and shout hurrah because #Fox has ordered a comedy pilot starring John Stamos. As reruns of Full House are getting old and a few yogurt commercials are just a tease, would be happy to see more of him...#THEVIEW- Thanks for keeping the other Rosie on. Rosie Perez still on this season...NBC picks up three comedies from Universal TV, Superstore, How We Live and another as yet untitled show from the makers of Hot In Cleveland, which will be missed over at TVLand...Lots of renewals, Scorpion, #NCIS, and Madam Secretary renewed for a second season. Fall 2014 - "Oh Mr. Smiith... more nostalgia coming our way.. Legendary TV is doing a remake of Lost in Space.I can't imagine what the new robot will look like... The Archie Comic Books are also coming to life on Fox....I am showing my age by saying this, but I grew up with Courtship of Eddie's Father and #Bewitched and now both are set to return to TV, Courtship on #Fox and Bewitched still unknown. Looks like this Bewitched will center around Tabitha's daughter. However, my guess is that they will be very different from these wholesome, "family" styled originals. Still, I will tune in to see if they even come close to the essence of the originals...Neil Patrick Harris to host the Oscars, another one off his bucket list which includes Sleeping in Cinderella's castle...CBS All Acess will now offer #CBS shows streaming in many areas, costing about $5.99. Kudos also to TVland for bringing back Friends late night as Nick is now iring How I Met Your Mother.... Big Brother, after 16 seasons, is renewed for an unprecedented two more...ABC's Wednesday night comedy lineup is sure to get good ratings, lots of laughs on all four shows including the new hit Black'ish....CBS's double dish ofThe Big Bang Theory still left us wanting more. Maybe we all have to get used to the short hair but the episodes delivered consistency as well as moving character stories forward...Surfing around during the day. The Meredith VieraShowis worth watching. I had liked Katie Couric and her show is very similar but with some Ellenesque comedy added in. She does celebrity interviews but what I like best is that she features and has inspiring stories about regular folk.... Getting used to the new View. I definitely like the new set and the chemistry between the new co-hosts. So maybe we will not get the controversy of past years, but so far the show is full of intelligent talk on interesting subjects.

Looking forward to the new season, though enjoying some of the summer episodes. Loving Extant. Lots of plot turns and alien characters always allow for creativity, they can just make it up as they go along....Under the Dome. What can I say? It started off really well but now they are really just going in and out under the dome. They are introducing new characters but not sure where the plot is headed. Is this true to the novel?.. Two thumbs up for the Jimmy Kimmel mini-Friends reunion that apparently stumped a lot of people. Very well done and so funny!Speaking of Jimmys and being funny, Fallon's musical impersonations are so very funny. What a talented guy..RHONJ update: Caroline Manzo will have her own show, Manzo'd With Children... Kathy Wakile has her first recipe book out, Indulge. Will miss Sherri and Jenny at THE VIEW- already missing Barbara though she was on today! What's going on with that show anyway. Bring back Rosie and fill those seats with opinionated people....

Indiegogo Campaign closes soon for Daryn Strauss' new webseries Weight starring Martha Byrne and featuring Maitely Weissman. Tickets for a VIP soap party in NYC is one of the perks...
NJ's got the dance moves once again. Shout out to Wyckoff's Carley Blaney on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.

Rest in Peace Alice, the maid we all wanted in our house. You have made a lasting impression on all of us Brady fans and we will miss you.
Congrats go out to Christina Grimmie of NJ. So she didn't take the top prize on season six of The Voice and came in third, but that is a feat to be congratulated! I am sure we will hear and see more of her as she is signed with CAA.
DWTS's and Fort Lee's Maksim Chmekovskiy won the mirror ball trophy with Olympic Champion Meryl Davis this season, but this may be his last season on the successful show. According to published reports he may be done with dancing on the show, though he is open to judging it. Maksim has his hands full as the owner of several NJ dance studios and had also landed his dancing feet on Broadway in Forever Tango last year. Hopefully we will see much more of this talented performer on a different stage.

It's renewal season, here's the latest out of Hollywood. Freshman shows the Goldbergs, About a Boy and Resurrection, renewed. It's a sad day for actuaries becauseSuper Fun Night got the axe as did Suburgatory. Others coming back are really no surprise, The Middle, Modern Family, DWTS, Bachelor, Scandal, American Idol, Hannibal, Castle, Once Upon a Time, Shark Tank and Agents of SHIELD. For a complete list of renewals and cancellations click here:http://www.adweek.com/news/television/quick-and-dead-guide-tv-s-renewals-and-cancelations-157550

GREASE is apparently "The One That They Want" because Fox is producing a three-hour live production of Grease, following in the footsteps ofNBC's live version of The Sound of Music. It just can't be as good as the iconic original, I can't imagine who will replace John Travolta, but I suppose it will be a new Grease for a new generation. Hopelessly devoted to that movie based on the 1971 Broadway play I will be tuning in in 2015.

Spring 2014

Mrs. Carol Brady aka Florence Henderson celebrated her 80th birthday on April 15, and she did so on The Talk. It was a great BRADY BUNCH reunion show, so good to see all of them and so good to see all of them looking so good especially my fave, "Peter", with Gregg next in line. Florence looked great and she is a role model as to how much one can accomplish in their senior years, even in show business. The ladies of THE TALK commented on how good she looked and she said 'I guess good genes". Really Carol? That's all I will say. Maybe she didn't have any "help" but if she did what is the harm with saying so? Pappa Brady always treasured honesty. Also, MIA for this reunion was Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. I have a feeling the people at THE TALK may not have been too happy about this, I don't know, but I will say that they included her in the episode by giving the men a chance to throw a football into a ginormous cutout of Marcia's face and nose. Each time a ball "hit" her in the nose they played "OH MY NOSE!". Very funny, I sure do know a lot of middle-aged men that would have loved to play that game as well. If you are or were a fan of THE BRADY BUNCH this is an episode of THE TALK worth watching, including the pork chops and applesauce recipe and up until the end when Gregg plants a big one on his TV mom.

Been watching some of the new shows, Believe andRessurrection. Ressurrection is at the top of my list right now, I just don't know what's going on. The alien theory may not be too far for the truth. But I don't know where the show is headed and that's what makes me tune in each week.....Believe has a good premise, but I am seeing the same thing each week, she does something good and they get out of being caught once again with her telekinetic powers. I also don't see why violence is needed when the story can keep the viewer coming back..... Crisis is action-packed and intriguing. Again, I am not loving all the violence but I am looking forward to seeing Martha Byrne on next week's show.... Glad to seeRevenge back on and it is still fun to watch, but these characters go in and out so fast not only is it hard to keep up with who is who but hard to figure out the sense to some of the plots, some really don't make sense. And has anyone else noticed that Madeline Stowe is looking younger now?.... The Mindy Project is back on, after what was supposed to be a "Cliff-hanger" in December. I think Mindy should have left a little more to the imagination in that last episode. We should have been left with her deciding what to do instead of her making a choice....

The Millers is getting funnier... Loved Rosie O'Donnell onTHE VIEW! She always has a VIEW which is what the show is supposed to be about and she is very knowledgeable... gives the show a little more spark.....Revenge hurry up and come back! I didn't know how the writers would keep the plot going as Emily Thorne'srevenge plot was finally enacted, but they have me on the edge of my seat now wondering just what is going on. What's up with those memory lapses? I'd rather not read the spoilers.....Hurray for soaps!! Soaps will still be splashing around the major networks as ABC has renewed General Hospital for another year, and NBC has renewed Days of Our Lives until 2016. This super soap is celebrating 50 years on TV soon. Welcome to new cast member Kassie DePaiva(One Life To Live) who will be coming to Salem as Eve Donovan. Still missing Charlotte Ross as the original Eve but I always get to see her around the holidays on Lifetime....I just can't keep up with all the pilot and series orders coming out, some really have my attention.

The promos on TV have already started, but can't wait to see About a Boy. Heard it follows the Hugh Grant movie to a T, but instead of singing Roberta Flack at the talent show "the boy" sings One D. Maybe Hugh can come in for a cameo as an uncle? Please??...If you'll be missing Rob Lowe from Parks and Recreation, NBC ordered a pilot about a tennis professional, called "The Pro" that stars and is executive produced by this Mystic Pizza alum.

Also a project of NJ's James Gandolfini, that he was pursuing before his death will be coming to life on CBS. CalledTaxi-22 Project, it's about a cabbie in the Big Apple....Jenni Garth and Tori Spelling of 90210 fame will reunite in a new ABC Family show, Mystery Girls. In it they play former TV detectives who wind up solving crimes in their new, non-TV lives.... Another series coming to ABC Family is Young and Hungry, starring Emily Osment of Hannah Montana. It's about a young tech entrepreneur who meets a food blogger. I guess two different sides of the brain working there?.....Welcome to Sasheer Zamata as the newest cast member to join NBC's SaturdayNight Live. Sasheer is the first black female performer to join this enduring late-night comedy skitfest since Maya Rudolph. And thanks to all that pressure put on the show because it worked...

The Queen Latifah show officially renewed for a second season, but Katie Couric is out. The latter is a shame because the show was getting better, I wasn't falling asleep during it like I was when it first started. It could have been her soothing, melodic voice that did it but anyhow the segments were getting much more interesting this year.....Speaking of talk shows the Jersey Shore's Situation is getting his own.....Worth watching- the Kirstie Show is rather funny. Though she plays a larger-than-life kind of character that's hard to relate to, the writing is funny! The set design is updated deco that is superb and the beauty of the decorations in the holiday episode was distracting. Lots of physical humor as well. There was a scene on a ledge where Rhea Pearlman was swung by Kirstie and ended up in another apartment that was worth rewinding to laugh at a second time.

December 2013

Loving the Hallmark Channel these days. I didn't watch it last year so it is good to see some new movies as I am familiar with most of Lifetime's. I like Single Santa and the sequel. Meet the Santas was an appropriate follow-up. So far I have seen most of the new holiday movies. Lots of redheads as main characters this year and tis the season for people named Nick (most of whom think they are or really are Santa) Chris, Christine, Holly, Carol and Eve. Elves are a big thing this year, as well as women with problems with their businesses or work. I can't say there were any that I didn't like, though they are all so formulaic and calm some are better as background noise while trimming the tree than others. Still waiting for my favorite, Comfort and Joy to air..... Sad to see The Mindy Project going on hiatus. Fox promises to bring it back mid-April and is changing the script directions. It is a very funny show and does not use the same old boring plot lines used in so many sitcoms........ Good news for Glee fans however on Fox Tuesdays as the show is coming back to its 8pm timeslot........ So AMC is going, once again. Soap fans should look to the Internet as new soaps are finding homes and gaining ground on the Web and on demand.......It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorite movies. They are making a sequel to it, with the same type of heartwarming message. I hear that Zuzu (George Bailey's daughter famous for petals and angel wings) will play an angel in it at the grand age of 76 years old now. If you live near Suffern, NY, every year they show this movie in the grandeur of their real deco theater on the main street. It's not just a movie when you see it there, it's like going back in time. Tickets sell out fast every year......Warner Brothers is making a movie based on the old Gilligan's IslandTV series....President Obama was offered a cameo on Netflix's House of Cards....

November 2013

November 2013 New housewives have been chosen for RHONJ, I hear they are from an exclusive town outside of Bergen/Passaic counties and filming starts in a few weeks... So the Goldbergs and Trophy Wife got picked up for full season orders. I like the music of the Goldbergs and any humor having to do with antiquated technology is always funny. I still think VCR's were easy to use and being able to stop a show at the exact point you left it is a bonus. One has to think of the beauty of the VCR in the context of the idea - the concept of "taping" a show was phenomenal when you consider back then a show ran once and if you missed it you had to wait for a repeat of it 6 months later. The Goldbergs is funny but then it always goes off on a very unrealistic path. Trophy Wife if also funny but not really LOL. Super Fun Night only got picked up for 4 more episodes, yet I really think that show is a star. I can see they are going after Big Bang viewers with their cast of misfits and nerds. The last episode had Alice defending her vocation as an actuary. Okay maybe not funny for a broad audience but humor is clever. What's up with Modern Family? Not as funny as last year. The Middle is true to form and always true to their characters, Axel not being able to handle college on his own and having a roommate obsessed with video games is not only funny but sadly true if you have ever been in a college dorm these days.

October/September 2013

October: Loving The Mindy Project these days after binging to catch up in September. I like Super Fun Night too, but why do career women have to be self-deprecating in order to be funny? Also happy to see Michael J. Fox back on TV. The show is not doing well, it's okay but so slow keep a magazine with you or a phone to fill up the time...Hooray to Ellen DeGeneresfor producing a show starring none other than the adorable cuties from England Sophia Grace and Rosie. Looking forward to great scripts from veteran Diane English. I just hope their true nature comes through in the scripts..

September: I was so happy to see positive images of Atlantic City on the Miss America show. So happy for all the locals for the boom in business and for AC in that the pageant is back to its roots. Watching it for curiosity's sake, I was hoping to find something in it to make me feel good about it's portrayal of woman. First I must say that Miss New York is a fine choice, but still, this show leaves me nothing to feel good about. The dance moves were questionable for many reasons including the fact that most of these ladies are not trained dancers. The bathing suit part I suppose is a necessary traditional evil. I looked forward to the talent part. However, I must ask "why?" Most of these women were immensely talented but their talent was diminished by inane popups. When I read "She has two feet that are different sizes" while listening to an incredibly talented and trained performer, sorry, I left the show. Why do that? Why? I eventually turned back to see the question part. I have to say that was okay. They answered the best they could and at least no one said "world peace" directly as an answer. Will I watch again next year? Curiosity may again get the best of me but Devious Maids was a distraction. Ellen DeGeneres will be hosting the Oscars! More good news.. though Alec Baldwin said he would limit his time on screen to be a dad, he is negotiating for a part in a new Cameron Crowe film...August Snooki made the news, again. Apparently the people on little-known Pelican Island near Seaside Heights are not happy she wants to vacation and film there...Speaking of the Jersey Shore, we really are not stronger than the storm all over. There are still hundreds of homes destroyed and dozens of businesses not yet open. For anyone that visits Long Beach Island, though, the newly replenished beaches are spectacular...I wonder if Teresa Guidice has been there yet - read my interview with her where we talk Jersey shore....And don't forget to read "The Colony" by my friend AJ Colucci while you're on the beach...Welcome to Jenny McCarthy as new co-host for the View. VH1 Reality Star and Recording Artist Jackie Madden released her new song "Taste" July 16th, it is rising up the Beatport chart....BAD PARENTS Movie, which focuses on the crazy world of soccer parents, and made entirely in NJ with NJ talents, is to Target on August 13th. You can also pre-order now on Amazon. ....Shout out to Oprah for putting soaps on her network, now if we can only find it on our TV's....Have you watched the "Baby Bachelor" on Jimmy Kimmel? Find all 5 episodes on Youtube. Anyone who appreciates The Bachelor formula is going to love this parody. Hysterical!! Who did Wesley give the ring pop to? ... Devious Maids and Under the Dome. - worth watching. Under the Dome has already been renewed for a second season, but when you combine King and Spielberg one would expect nothing less. Devious Maids continues to delight and intrigue. It is getting a big too much like Desperate Housewives but still enjoyable. Flora's killer (DM) will be revealed this season.
