Katonah Classic Stage Presents Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing Oct. 22- Nov. 1, 2026 Starring 3-Time Daytime Emmy Nominee Trent Dawson, Katie Faebel Jeremiah Wiggins, Brenda Withers And More in This Classic Comedy

Katonah Classic Stage (KCS), Westchester’s premier professional theatre dedicated to classic plays, will give Northern Westchester a big dose of Broadway talent this Fall. Starting in October, audiences will be treated to Tom Stoppard’s classic comedy, The Real Thing. Katonah Classic Stage will return to Whippoorwill Hall in Armonk with the (multiple) Tony-Award winning play The Real Thing, the 1982 comedy-drama play by British playwright Tom Stoppard that explores the nature of romantic love, fidelity, emotional honesty, and the illusion of reality. According to The New York Times, “The Real Thing is so densely and entertainingly packed with wit, ideas and feelings that one visit just won’t do.”

Directed by Jonathan Fielding (Broadway’s Noises Off, Pygmalion, The Seagull), The Real Thing cast is led by Broadway veteran and 3-time Emmy Nominee Trent Dawson and includes Katie Fabel (Broadway’s Hangmen), star of stage and screen Jeremiah Wiggins, and returning KCS favorite Brenda Withers, among others.

KCS Artistic Director Trent Dawson states “Late last year the world lost Tom Stoppard, celebrated as one of the most significant dramatists of the modern era. Known for his dazzling verbal wit, philosophical depth, and complex structural layers, his unique writing style earned the entry “Stoppardian” in the Oxford English Dictionary. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Stoppard received five Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and an Academy Award. We are honored to present one of his greatest works to our audience.”
