Origin Theatre Company is presenting an Off-Broadway revival of Enda Walsh’s “Misterman” as part of the of the 2026 Origin Irish Theatre Festival in New York. Directed by Labhaoise Magee, and starring Daniel Marconi (“Sweeney Todd” and "Mary Poppins" on Broadway), Walsh’s virtuosic study of one man's descent into religious mania in small-town Ireland begins on Tue June 23. It opens on Thu June 25 and runs through Sun July 5 at Theater Row, 410 West 42nd Street.
First produced at the Granary Theatre in Cork, "Misterman” received its New York premiere in 2002 in a production directed David DeBeck and starring George C. Heslin (Origin’s first production). The play’s celebrated revival in 2011 featuring Cillian Murphy, played at the National Theatre in London before moving to St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York City. The Festival kicks off on Tuesday Jun 16 with a unique immersive concert, the “Enda Walsh Mixtape,” celebrating the music that inspired Walsh’s plays and films, as well as tunes from his musicals “Once,” "Sing Street," and "Lazarus" (Walsh's musical collaboration with David Bowie). Walsh will attend Origin’s 2026 Benefit Gala on Mon Jun 29, when he will be honored with the title of Origin’s Ard Seanchaí (“Chief Storyteller” in Irish). The event takes place at the American Irish Historical Society, 991 Fifth Avenue, Monday June 29, 7pm. Tickets from $100 HERE

Since its founding in 2002, Origin has introduced works by over 300 playwrights to US audiences, from such countries as the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, Macedonia, Norway, Italy, Ireland and the United Kingdom. 2027 will mark Origin’s 25th anniversary.
