Daniel Lasker, who hails from Zimbabwe, is one of the stars of the popular series "One Piece" on Netflix where he plays the character Mr. 9. He is also known for his acting work in "Raised by Wolves" on HBO Max and the historical miniseries "Abraham Lincoln," where he played Robert Lincoln (the eldest son of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln).
Daniel's Favorite Movies
His favorite movies are "The Lord of the Rings" trilogies. "That is why I became an actor," he admitted. "I was nine years old and I watched that movie for the first time. At that time, I didn't understand what a movie was. I thought I was looking at this window of reality, and these things actually happened. Then my parents explained to me that this was a movie people created as their job. So since then, my heart has been set on acting."
"I adore anything that is fantasy, science fiction, escapism, and creating another world. So, 'The Lord of the Rings' is definitely the holy grail for me," he added.
Favorite Series to Binge watch
His favorite series to binge-watch is "Game of Thrones." "I think I've watched that entire show at least three or four times," he said.
Favorite Sports to Watch and to Play
His favorite sport to watch and to play is "tennis." "I really enjoy watching tennis and I played quite a bit of it in high school," he said.
Daniel Lasker's Favorite Mottos to Live By
On his favorite mottos to live by, he said, "I think every day we wake up is a huge gift. Life is a gift and a blessing. I think I always try and lead each and every day with the thought or the feeling of how can I enjoy, celebrate this day and share that energy with others. I think when we encounter and interact with other people, we never know when the next time we'll see them what might be or if it'll be the last time we see them. So, no matter what interaction I have, I always try and share love and celebrate the fact that we get to be here together."
What Daniel Lasker Says is the Best Thing About Being His Age
On the best thing about being his age, he said, "That's interesting. I've never really thought of that. I've been pursuing this dream and working on my craft for over 10 years now. I started as a very young teenager. I still feel the exciting part is beginning now and I've got so much more to do and share."
"What I'm so grateful for is the amount of people that I've worked with in the years that I have who were all just so incredible," he said. "I think there's just so much more to come. So, I'm excited."
Favorite Cheat Meal
His favorite cheat meal is "pizza." "A nice, big, cheesy pizza," he said. "Lasagna is great, too. I love me some lasagna."
Favorite Hobbies to Unwind
On his favorite hobbies to unwind and relax, he said, "Aside from watching movies (because movies are a huge comfort for me), I love going on hikes with some friends, or going into a forest or on some mountains to hike. So, I really love a good nature day."
If Daniel Lasker Could Have a Superpower It Would Be...
His superpower of choice would be "flying."
His Definition of Success
Regarding his definition of success, he said, "Success means being able to create and do the things that bring you the most joy.”
“It’s an incredible blessing to be able to tell a story that reaches people and getting to do that alongside other incredibly talented people,” he added.
Daniel Lasker's Favorite Music
On his favorite music, Lasker said, "I love all genres of music. Whenever I hear a new song that I like, it becomes my new favorite, however, there is one song that keeps coming back to me and it's deep in my heart... and that's 'Forever in Blue Jeans' by Neil Diamond."
