Editor's Note - The Neighborhood wrapped up it's long run on CBS. It's one of my favorite sitcoms, with the final season being a tribute to the comedy and character development throughout the series.
American actor Sheaun McKinney is known for his starring role as Malcolm Butler in the CBS sitcom “The Neighborhood.”
He is also known for portraying Dayshawn in the HBO dark comedy TV series “Vice Principals” and Wayne on the NBC sitcom “Great News.” He also had a supporting role in the film “Boss Level.”

His favorite sport to watch and to play is “football.” “Hands down, football. I'm from Miami. Shout out to Miami. 305 in the building. Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins,” he said.
Sheaun's Favorite Cheat Meal
His favorite cheat meal is probably “plain chocolate Haagen-Dazs.” It is the best ice cream ever made. I'll fight anybody who disagrees and I won’t share it with anybody,” he said with a sweet laugh.

His favorite mottos to live by are “Be thankful. Trust your faith. Thank God daily. Wake up and thank God daily and put Him first.”
“Everything else will flow after that. I truly believe that,” he said.
What He Says About This Stage of His Life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, McKinney revealed, “Self-discovery.” “I’m in the discovery phase,” he admitted.
How Sheaun McKinney Unwinds
His favorite hobby to unwind and relax is gardening. “I'm really into gardening now. I got my garden bed on the side and I'm growing tons of vegetables. If anybody has any good, positive advice, please send it to me on Instagram about gardening,” he said.
“I find that that brings me peace in working out, like exercising. Also, learning how to exercise slowly, and I like true crime podcasts,” he added.
What Sheaun Says is the Best Thing About Being His Age
The best thing about being his age is “maturity.” “I think a certain maturation. I do think a certain level of maturity starts to naturally set in or try to set in,” he said. “It's up to us to embrace it, and a lot of that has to do with life slowing down.”
If Sheaun McKinney Was Not An Actor He Might Be...
On his alternate career choice, McKinney shared, “Right before I had my kind of break, I was on the verge of trying to become a police officer. So, I think something in that vein of protecting communities and things like that.”
Sheaun's Favorite Music
Regarding his favorite music, he admitted, “That's tough. I listen to a lot of blues. I'm listening to a lot of R&B and blues right now, but I grew up on hip-hop. I'll always be a fan of hip hop. So, I like blues and hip-hop.”
