Nicky Whelan is an Australian actress and model, who is best known for her role as Pepper Steiger in the Australian television series "Neighbours."
Whelan appeared in the final season of Scrubs as "Maya", an Australian medical school student. Whelan also played the role of "Leigh" in the 2011 film, "Hall Pass," which co-starred Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate. She has starred in such movies as "Maneater," "The Best Man," and "The Flood," which was released July 2023 via Saban Films. She shared seven interesting facts about herself.
“I went to the movies the other night and I saw ‘Sound of Freedom,’ the child trafficking movie. It was incredibly moving, very important and powerful to see,” she said. “I watched ‘Pride & Prejudice’ with Keira Knightley the other night and I loved that movie, it was fantastic. I also watched ‘A Wonderful Life,’ a classic from the ‘40s. I tend to go backwards with a lot of my movies.”
“I do like new movies that come out. I am excited about Cillian Murphy’s new movie ‘Oppenheimer,’ I can’t wait to see that too. When it comes to movies, I am all over the place,” she added.
Favorite Series to Binge-watch
On her favorite series to binge, she said, “Peaky Blinders.” “It’s so great,” she admitted. “I am in the middle of watching ‘Hijack,’ the new Idris Elba series. There are some really great streaming series on TV right now that I am digging into.”
Nicky's Favorite Sports to Watch and Play
Regarding her favorite sports, she responded, “While I don’t watch a lot of sports, I do enjoy boxing, I grew up with boxing and kickboxing, and old school things like that. I do like watching the fights very much.”
Favorite Cheat Meal
She listed "rizotto" as her favorite cheat meal. "You will always find me eating chocolate, I'm a huge fan of chocolate," she said with a sweet laugh.
If She Could Have a Supepower...
She revealed that her superpower of choice would be to “fly.” “As a kid, and now I would still want to be able to fly, that way, I can check things out,” she said.
Favorite Mottos to Live by
When asked about her favorite mottos to live by, she noted that she goes by the following Buddhist quote: “The trouble is, you think you have time.” “This is it, I’ve got to do things now,” she said.

On her definition of the word success, Whelan said, “Living a very mentally healthy and stable life. Being happy doing work on yourself as a human. Self-work in your personal journey is the No. 1 most important thing.”
