Trent Dawson's Katonah Classic Stage Film Festival To Be Held on August 12th at Bedford Playhouse in Bedford NY - See a Selection of Films from Here and Abroad

Katonah Classic Stage Film Festival is happening Saturday August 12th at the Bedford Playhouse in Bedford, New York, a short drive from Manhattan in beautiful Westchester County.  The KCS Film Festival at the Bedford Playhouse feautures a  fantastic lineup of 19 films from 8 different countries including France, Russia, Brazil, India, Iran, China, and Poland, plus a few great films from local filmmakers.  Founder of Katonah Classic Stage Actor/Director Trent Dawson (As the World Turns, Film & TV) states, "The Katonah Classic Stage Film Festival was created during the early days of Covid as a means to encourage people to get creative and make some movies. We were hoping we might get some local folks to submit a few films and we could all enjoy it at as a Covid-safe, drive-in event. To our great surprise, we received hundreds of submissions from all over the world, and our "local" film festival, quickly became an international phenomenon. "

Executive Director Sharon Kearney adds, "Now, we welcome films from every corner of the earth and we look forward every year to celebrating both our cultural difference and delighting in how similar we all are no matter where in the world we live. It has become a favorite event for many of our supporters and we are thrilled and grateful that the Bedford Playhouse has partnered with us again for our 4th festival."

Here is a sneak peak at some of this year's films and a few details to help you get the most out of your experience:
 
  • When: Saturday, August 12, 2023
  • Seating begins at 7:30 and the film starts around 8 (as it gets dark)
  • Where: The Bedford Playhouse Lawn
  • Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic OR buy movie concessions and adult beverages from the Playhouse
  • Runtime: approximately 2 hours 15 minutes
  • What to expect: the movies are predominantly family friends with the exception of a few subtitles with adult language.
