It is beyond words and with tremendous sadness that we report that this wonderful, talented young lady who was just starting her life was fatally shot after a concert. This was a senseless act. Forever Grimmie.

NJ's Own Christina Grimmie landed in the Top Three of NBC's Sixth Season of The Voice. But as we've seen with other singing competitions, it's not just the winner that ends up shining.

"I respect you so, so much.... and thank you for believing in me because no one else did." Christina to her coach, Adam Levine, on the final show.

The Voice, one of America’s most popular TV shows, has just finished its sixth season. Josh Kaufman, a teen from Indianapolis, Indiana was crowned this season’s winner.  While Kaufman showcased incredible talent, the real star was contestant Christina Victoria Grimmie, who ended up placing third. An audience favorite from the very beginning, Grimmie captivated viewers and the judges with her version of Miley Cyrus’ hit “Wrecking Ball” in her first audition. With a big smile and shinning stage confidence, it was impossible not to fall in love with her.

This rising starlet is from Marlton, New Jersey, a small rural town with a population of only a little over 10,000 people. She attended Cherokee High School, which holds some of her biggest supporters. Christina has been singing since she was quite young. She told her local paper, the Courier Post, that, 'The Lord game me a passion for singing."

In early 2009, Grimmie debuted her YouTube channel. Most of her videos were Grimmie singing along to famous covers on a piano. No sheet music was used. She
played strictly by ear, which was an early indicator of her true talent and versatility. Now at the age of twenty, Grimmie has rose to Youtube stardom and is well on her way to becoming a household name. Her Youtube channel has over 2 million subscribers and she is the 4th most subscribed musician overall.

The Voice was just another milestone in this talented singer’s budding career. Under the guidance of judge Adam Levine, Maroon 5’s lead singer, Grimmie blew her fans away with renditions of Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up” and OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars.” Even though Grimmie didn’t win the competition, her fame has skyrocketed. She was nominated and won various awards, most notably, “New Media Honoree” at the 2011 American Music Awards and has been a guest on the Ellen Degeneres show.

In addition, her first album, “With Love” is set for an early August 2014 release. Grimmie is also scheduled to join former Disney star, Selena Gomez Stars Dance world tour also in August. Currently, Grimmie resides in Los Angeles and is looking forward to all her upcoming projects. Stay tuned because this New Jersey native is sure to be the next big thing!
