About Caytha Jentis

Jentis, a screen and stage writer, started making films while driving carpools in suburban New Jersey. She writes through the gaze of motherhood. Her stories challenge the old tropes of motherhood with pathos and heightened reality humor. Her first feature was a romantic comedy about a donor inseminated single mother played by Vanessa Williams.

Her stage play “It’s All About the Kids” won the New Jersey Playwrights competition and was produced by William Paterson University.  It is about parents grappling with the high intensity of suburban sports culture. Moran, who has directed many new and established theater works, directed a developmental reading of “It’s All About the Kids.” “It’s All About the Kids” subsequently became a film called Bad Parents that
starred Janeane Garofalo, Cheri Oteri and Christopher Titus that was shot throughout Northern New Jersey. Jentis, whose two kids are grown, now lives with her husband in New York City. More information on her can be found at www.caytha.com
