NBC NY News Anchor and Author Jen Maxfield is hosting and event with the Center for Food Action in Northern NJ to help raise funds and gather support for those in need. The event is part of the CFA's 9-11 Day of Service event. Details are below. Even if you can't make the event, there are ways to help online. Since 1976, the Center for Food Action in NJ has been providing food, housing, utility and heatig assistance, counseling and advocacy services to low income individuals and families. 9/11 WEEKEND SNACK PACK EVENT On Friday, September 9th, at 4:00 pm, CFA will gather in person for our 10th Annual 9/11 Weekend Snack Pack event at Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe. CFA’s annual day of service supports our initiatives by improving our neighbors’ lives, strengthening communities, and fostering civic engagement through service and volunteering. There are three different ways you can support our 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Weekend Snack Pack event. 1. Register your company, organization, or family members to participate in our in-person Weekend Snack Pack event at Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe. *Please note that space is limited 2. Create a team online and help us raise much needed funds to purchase food for the Weekend Snack Packs (insert link). Once you log on, you will find all the tools you need to create pre-written emails to your colleagues, friends, and family, plus language for your social media posts. 3. Donate directly to CFA With inflation rising, we know some parents and their children will need CFA’s help to avoid the pitfalls associated with food insecurity. CFA’s Weekend Snack Packs are discreetly placed in student backpacks in over 11 municipalities in Bergen County, including various schools, after-school programs, and public libraries, to bridge the hunger gap.
