Ignacyo Matynia is an actor who is known for his performance in the Lifetime original movie "My Nightmare Landlord," where he played the title role. He also starred in the independent films "One and the Same" and "Break Every Chain," as well as the Hallmark holiday movie "Christmas Camp."

A native of Poland, who grew up in the United States, Matynia appeared opposite Mariska Hargitay on "Law & Order: SVU." His past work has been displayed on Netflix, HBO, ABC, AMC, Lifetime, Starz, Amazon, and Hallmark, among other networks.

Most recently, he starred in "Man in the Guest House" on Lifetime, as the male lead opposite Emmy winner Kristen Alderson ("General Hospital"), which premiered In February 2024.

His Favorite Movie

He listed “The Beach” as his favorite film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tilda Swinton. “This says a lot about Leo because after ‘The Titanic,’ he did this movie,” he said. “I love that kind of story that has wanderlust travel and excitement.”

Favorite Series to Binge-watch

For Matynia, his favorite series to binge is “Entourage.” “I loved Entourage because it was romanticizing everything about Hollywood and about the business," he said. “The characters were phenomenal, and the acting was amazing.”

Ignacyo Matynia's Favorite Cheat Meal

His favorite cheat meal is a "western cheeseburger and corn fritters" from Roll-N-Roaster in Sheepshead Bay. “Their iced tea and their hot sauce are also incredible,” he exclaimed.

Favorite Sports to Watch and Play

Particularly impressive about Matynia is that he enjoys playing sports more than watching them.

“I don’t really love to watch sports, I like playing sports," he noted. "But if I had to watch a sport it would be football because it has the most action, and the same holds true for boxing. My favorite sport to play is football as well.”

Favorite Mottos to Live by

His favorite motto to live by is the following quote by President Richard Nixon: “A man is not finished when he is defeated. He is finished when he quits.”

What Ignacyo Says is The Best Thing about Being the Age He is Now

When asked about the best thing about being his age, he noted that he is in "Act III" at the moment, where his character has a realization and has the option of either doing something about it or letting everyone decide for him.

If He Could Have a Superpower.......

If Matynia were to have any superpower capabilities, it would be "flying," especially since he is enamored by birds, and flying would allow him to see things from their viewpoint.

Any Alternate Career Choice?

His alternate career choice would be DJing. “That’s what got me into the entertainment business when I was younger,” he said.

Favorite Music

“I have so many different sides of myself and different moods. I love movie scores, 90s hip hop, EDM, pop, dance, classical music, and folk. It really all depends what mood I am in. I feel that music calms me down and it slows down my brain.”
