For Aspiring Filmmakers, Actors & Musicians- Free In-Person and Zoom Panels by Industry Professionals will Give you Tips on The Biz, April 23rd and 26th presented by Ridgewood Film Festival with Emmy WInnner Cady McClain, Producer Suzanne Ordas Curry

 
Are you a filmmaker.... or an aspiring one? Do you want to hear from some people in the "biz" who can tell you what it's really like? Do you want to become an actor? Are you fascinated by movies? If so, then you may want to attend one of two FREE events sponsored by the Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival.

On Sunday April 23rd the festival will present an online virtual zoom discussion with, Composer for award-winning and Oscar-nominated films. Sunday 4/23 at 7:00pm EDT - Music in Film: Practical, Legal and Artistic Considerations.  Also with entertainment lawyer Lee Morin, Esq. and others. Virtual 60-90 minutes.  Sign-up required to receive Zoom link in advance. On Wednesday April 26th in person, hear from Three-Time Daytime Emmy Award winning Actor/Director Cady McClain (Jennifer Days, Dixie, All My Children), Producer Suzanne Ordas Curry and Music Composer Mark Suozzo.

Cady McClain made history as the first woman to have won three Emmys© for three different characters on three different television shows: All My Children (Best Juvenile, 1991), As the World Turns (Best Supporting, 2004), and Days of Our Lives (Best Guest Performer, 2021). She has performed in many stage productions, appeared in numerous TV shows such as Law & Order SVU, Cheers and currently as Jennifer Horton on Days of Our Lives and several movies including Pennies From Heaven. Her feature directorial debut, Seeing is Believing: Women Direct (featuring Lesli Linka Glatter, Sarah Gavron, and Naima Ramos Chapman, among others) won numerous awards including Best Documentary at the Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival. It is available on PBS and Kanopy. She was honored to be awarded the International Matrix Award for her work related to supporting the female voice in film and television by the Association of Women in Communications. She is an Ambassador for Kids in the Spotlight (a foster youth filmmaking program) and also the Artistic Director for Axial Theatre in Westchester.
Suzanne Ordas Curry is an award-winning independent film, series and podcast producer. As an entrepreneur she founded WI Public Relations over 25 years ago. As a producer, she uses her experience in marketing to help her projects succeed.  Films have been in top festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, Toronto. Bentonville, Chicago and more. You can see them on HBO, Lifetime, Showtime, Amazon, Netflix, cable stations, streamers and in theaters nationally and internationally. Notable actors such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Marsha Mason, Lee Grant, Mindy Cohn, Christina Hendricks, Tika Sumpter, Anna Camp, Alysia Reiner are just a few attached to her projects.  She executive produces The LIBBY Show on Youtube, IWomanTV and her own channel LIBBYTV on BingeTV. She is VP of Marketing Strategies and PR at The Usual BS Productions. She works with several charities. In 2022 AARP's The Girlfriend recently honored her with an "Inspiring Women" distinction. Mark Suozzo composes music for feature films and documentaries. He’s worked with some of America’s finest independent filmmakers over the years—with Whit Stillman on Metropolitan (Oscar Nomination), Barcelona, Last Days of Disco, Damsels in Distress and the art house favorite Love & Friendship; Shari Springer-Berman and Bob Pulcini on American Splendor (Oscar Nomination) and The Nanny Diaries; and with Mary Harron on The Notorious Bettie Page.

Katie Chambers is a communications executive and event producer with a lifelong commitment to supporting artists and advocating for inclusion. She is currently the Senior Director of Community & Public Relations at New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), where she manages both Communications and Membership and produces Special Events including the Muse Awards for Women of Vision & Achievement. She has received national recognition for her work at NYWIFT as one of Association Trends’ top “Young and Aspiring Executives” at their Salute to Excellence in Washington, DC, and was recognized by New York Society of Association Executives with their “Rising Star” award at the Synergy Awards.
