Neal McDonough is an iconic actor, who is known for Band of Brothers on HBO, Boomtown, Tin Man, Desperate Housewives, Minority Report, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash. More recently, he appeared in Suits, Yellowstone and Tulsa King.

On his favorite movies, he said, “The films from my childhood are the ones that turned me into who I am, and why I want to be an actor. I love the John Wayne film The Cowboys and The French Connection was one of my favorite action movies, and I loved Rocky. These were the films I wanted to make as I got older.”

On his favorite series to binge, McDonough said, “I don’t watch much. I don’t even watch any of my projects. My wife, Ruve, made me sit down and watch Tulsa King, and it was just phenomenal. If I have any spare time, I am watching ESPN or younger movies with my five kids. My appetite for TV is generally sports.”

“I’ve played baseball and hockey at a pretty high level through college. For me, watching a baseball game is just awesome. I can watch a college game, and I will love it. I love watching any sport; I love watching the drama of sport. More importantly, I like watching my five kids in their sports.”

“I do my cheat meals on Sundays. I like a Jersey Mike’s Italian sandwich with a Coke, a cookie, and a bag of chips. That is just beautiful stuff. If I can have any meal, it’s always the same thing… Ruve’s spaghetti Bolognese; that’s my favorite meal.”

“At the end of the day, when the kids are all in bed, I do like a nice cigar,” he said. “Also, I love punching and hitting bags; that’s my relaxation,” he added.

On the best advice he has ever been given, he revealed, “If they give you a dollar, give them two dollars’ worth of effort, and I got that advice from my dad.”
