Anthony Scalia is a journalist and filmmaker from NJ. He has an award-winning film about a famous NJ diner, and now he has taken his experience as a journalist to make a true-crime podcast, an investigation he himself was a part of. We asked him a few questions about it.
Suzee: Tell me about what you have been working on.
Anthony: For the last seven years, I have been working as a journalist on an investigative, true crime podcast called DENISE DIDN’T COME HOME.

Suzee: What is it about?
In July of 1969, teenage sisters Karen and Denise Falasca left home to see a movie. But in a last-minute change of plans, Denise told Karen to go on without her, promising to meet her later. But Denise never made it home. When Denise’s body was discovered the next day, her sister Karen was left with more questions than answers. Questions that would haunt her for decades and lead her to take matters into her own hands to find her sister’s killer.
Suzee: How did you get involved?
Anthony Scalia: When I met Karen in 2017, she was still searching for answers about the night Denise disappeared. I spent years with her, chasing leads, digging into the case, and gaining unprecedented access to a story that had gone cold. Our investigation uncovered shocking new developments and secrets that have been buried for years.
It’s not your average true-crime podcast - it’s a complicated tale of grief, love and the lifelong effects that violent crimes have on surviving families. The podcast is produced by Truth Media (The Jinx, Capturing the Friedmans) and distributed through Sony Music Entertainment.
Suzee: How can we listen?
Anthony: There are 8 episodes in total. Be sure to “follow” the show on Apple Podcasts/Spotify so you don’t miss any episodes. Or if you want to binge the whole show, you can for $4.99 on Apple Podcasts.
