from Zonie Le Sane, President

Zonie LeSane, President of Bergen CASA states, "We are also extremely proud to be holding this golf event to help support the work of our advocates. We have had a tough year as the pandemic presented unique challenges to children in foster care as well as our organization. I am happy to say that our advocates served every child removed from their parents during the pandemic. In all of 2020, 115 Advocates donated over 6800 hours of their time on behalf of 139 children and 95% of our recommendations to the family court were accepted. We do great work, and we are grateful for any support that comes our way. Even if you don't golf, please come to our dinner or bid online for our silent auction items. Bidding is easy to set up and fun!"

Eric Murdock (former NBA player) to be recognized by

Bergen County CASA is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children in the foster system. CASA volunteers are committed to changing children’s stories so that any child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe and have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. As part of a CASA’s work to secure the services and assistance these vulnerable children need, we train and supervise volunteers who are called to advocate for their best interests.

Currently, there are more children in foster care from Bergen County than available Advocates. Our goal is to ensure that every child who has been abused or neglected has a CASA. In addition, the pandemic has caused additional heartache and isolation for these vulnerable children with the closure of schools and limited family visits. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a CASA or donating to this valuable cause, please visit www.bergencasa.org

Bergen County CASA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located at: One Bergen County Plaza, Suite 334, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
