Emmy winner Lin Shaye, the "Godmother of Horror" shared 10 interesting and fun things about herself.
Lin won an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Guest Performer in a Digital Drama Series" for playing Diane in the comedy web series "EastSiders." Most recently, she starred in the sixth installment of the "Insidious" franchise where she reprised her role as Elise Rainier.
She is best known for her work in horror films, as an iconic "Scream Queen," Shaye began her acting career in the 1970s and went on to appear in a wide range of films and television shows. She gained recognition through memorable roles in comedies such as "There's Something About Mary" and "Dumb and Dumber," before becoming a prominent figure in modern horror with her portrayal of the compassionate but determined paranormal investigator Elise Rainier.

Her favorite movies include "The Shining" (with Jack Nicholson), as well as such Alfred Hitchcock classics as "The Birds" and "Psycho."
"Speaking of 'Psycho,' it lived with me. Tony Perkins is such an interesting guy. He is very vulnerable, very sweet and very scary. Even when he wasn't being scary, he held something within him that was either perhaps from the work he had done or that was really him, but he was very kind to me. 'Psycho' is still one of the scariest movies ever made," she said.
Favorite Series to Binge-watch
On her favorite series to binge-watch, she said, "I lose interest. I don't really have any favorites. I'm not really that up to date on everything going on Amazon, as there's too much. It's almost too much information. I end up not getting sucked in. I end up kind of staying on the edges and then kind of fading away usually."
Favorite Sports to Watch and to Play
On her favorite sports, she said, "I'm a runner. I was never coordinated in basketball or softball. I'm more of a solo sports person than a team player, to be honest, because I was never good enough in the team, and I was always put last. That was very disheartening as a kid."
Lin's Favorite Cheat Meal
On her favorite cheat meal, she said, "I don't really have one because I eat pretty much everything. If I was going to really overdo on something, I like good pizza with like lots of cheese and bad meat that I would never eat otherwise. I used to like ice cream. I'm not a big ice cream fan anymore. I love fresh fruit, and believe it or not, I'd rather have that than a piece of cake."
Her Favorite Mottos to Live by
Her favorite motto to live by is the following: "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? Also, if not now, when?" "That is a very famous Yiddish expression. It makes me cry to say it. I think it's a really very vital set of thoughts to drive you forward each day," she said.
How Lin Unwinds
Her favorite hobbies include spending it with her pets, in this case her "doggie." "I've always had pets, and all of them had died last year. I just have a new doggie now. My favorite thing to do is to be with my animals. I got actually just a few months ago from a rescue," she said.

Outside of acting, she loves decorating her house. "My house is my other partner. I love my house, and I'm always moving things in my house... I like things and I like beauty around me. I have a very strong sense of position and space," she said.

The Best Thing Lin Says About Being her Age
On the best thing about being her age, Shaye said, "That I've reached the stage... everybody knows how old I am. I've got this fabulous career, and I ride my horse twice a week. I have my dog. I'm very physical. I love climbing, hiking and pretty much anything that has to do with movement."
"I think our bodies are true treasures, and we need to treat them that way. I take my health very seriously," she added.
Her Favorite Music
Her favorite music is "rock and roll. "I really love it. I'm from the old school. The Rolling Stones are still my favorite band in history. I just love them, and I still love hearing them. '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' is one of the best songs ever played and ever written," she said.
