New Movie Egg: A Dark Comedy About Surrogacy by Alysia Reiner, David Alan Basche and Michele Ganeless Stars Christina Hendricks, Anna Camp and More

There's an egg being hatched in Hollywood,

Egg is the name of  new indie movie by  Equity Producers Alysia Reiner, husband David Alan Basche and Michele Ganeless (Comedy Central), about, well, an unusual route to motherhood.

This movie is set to be "eggcellent" from a female perspective. As she did with Equity as a producer, Alysia, David as well as  Ganeless have assembled a crack team of females to help them in this venture. The writer is female, Risa Mickenberg (Taxi Driver Wisdom), the director is Marianna Palka (Good Dick, Glow) and you can be sure much of the team cooking up this movie will be female.

Alysia Reiner (Orange is the New Black, Better Things) and David Alan Basche (Equity, The Exes) have starring roles along with Christina Hendricks (Mad Men, Good Girls), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect 3, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Gbenga Akinnagbe (Independence Day, The Following).

The movie deals with surrogacy, but in a new way. Surrogacy is not all it's cracked up to be.. having a baby in the 21st century by using the womb of someone else has its deep and yet comedic idiosyncracies. This movie is sure to spark conversation, but in the end will it go over easy for the expecting couple?

This movie is filming summer 2017 in New York City.
