Broad Street Pictures Announces Its First Feature Film "Equity" Accepted into Dramatic Competition at Sundance Film Festival 2016: First Female - Driven Wall Street Film Features Females In Front of and Behind the Camera

Broad Street Pictures, LLC is proud to announce that their first feature film, Equity, has been selected into Sundance Film Festival 2016 in the U.S. Dramatic Competition.

Broad Street Pictures was founded in 2014 by Alysia Reiner (OITNB,  How Two Get Away with Murder. Rosewood) and Sarah Megan Thomas (Backwards the Movie).

Sarah Megan Thomas states, “We are thrilled to be having the world premiere of our film, Equity in the Dramatic competition at Sundance. We hope audiences will enjoy this first female driven Wall Street film”.

Equity is the story of a highly-successful and driven top female investment banker played by Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn who shepherds the IPO for an emerging tech company, at the same time trying to balance work, life and ethics in the highly competitive post-financial crisis world of Wall Street where everyone is watching everyone’s moves. Playing her leading man is James Purefoy (Rome, The Following). The movie also stars Broad Street founders Alysia Reiner and Sarah Megan Thomas Carrie Preston (Emmy Award winner, The Good Wife,) James Naughton (The Devil Wears Prada) Craig Bierko (Unreal), David Alan Basche (The Exes) , Lee Tergensen (Defiance), Samuel Roukin (Turn)  and many other notables from stage and TV including Bette Midler’s daughter Sophie Von Haselberg.

Broad Street Pictures aims to produce quality films for a wide audience with women in front of and behind the camera. The screenplay is by Amy Fox (Heights Movie) and directed by Meera Menon, voted by Glamour as one of the 35 Women Under 35 Running Hollywood. Music is by Alexis and Sam.

Equity is a compelling drama that aims to deliver relevance, excitement and reality.  It was developed in consultation with female and male investment bankers. One of the executive producers and several of the co-producers of the film, all women, are or have been in the banking industry.

Equity is scheduled to be released sometime in 2016, and has already received the honor of being chosen as the highly-regarded Creative Coalition’s 2015 Spotlight Initiative Film.
