NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams is by far one of the most recognizable news anchors in the country. Not many people know that this hard-working, personable and intelligent guy is from Jersey. He was born in Ridgewood, NJ, moved to Elmira NY and then finished high school down the shore, in Middletown. When Brian did his Superstorm Sandy report in 2013, you could tell that the shore was in his heart.

Brian was a volunteer firefighter when he lived in Middletown, NJ. His first job was at a Perkin’s Pancake House as a busboy. He started his news career at a local station in Pittsburgh PA.

Fast forward 30 years and he is Anchor and Managing Editor of the NBC Nightly News. He enjoys making the rounds discussing much more than the hard news on other shows as well with appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Daily Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Saturday Night Live, Sesame Street, and many others. He also played himself on 30 Rock.

With his clear voice and clarity of message, he makes very difficult subjects easy to digest, all with a sense of humor. Brian sat down with Jack Curry of the YES Network #JackCurryYES, to talk about his life, how he balances delivering and dealing with serious news all day and yet finds time and a way to bring humor into his conversation. He also speaks about his decision to host Saturday Night Live, as he was the first

network new anchor to ever do that. You’ll also hear about how two of his children are following in his television footsteps. His daughter, Allison, recognized for her work on The Mindy Project is now on the popular HBO series #Girls, and his son Doug works for the YES Network.
